JEWELRY FOR DAY & NIGHT

I HAVE FOREVER BEEN OBSESSED WITH JEWELRY AND HAVE DEVELOPED A FEW SELF IMPOSED RULES WHEN IT COMES TO (PURCHASING) AND PUTTING MY PIECES TOGETHER.

When I choose to add a new piece of jewelry to my collection, I try to think of how I will be able to incorporate it with everything I already own. Two things are at the forefront of consideration: can I wear it with almost anything? And can I sleep in it?

DAY

Few things are as important as knowing I can wear my pieces day-in-day-out. I try to choose finer rings and bracelets that feel effortless and weightless and that will go along with any outfit. This also means they can be worn for hours on end (even through the night) without desperately wanting to throw them off. I know if I remove anything while staying at a hotel, chances are I’ll forget and leave it there. And given the amount I travel, losing (*forgetting*) jewelry is an expense I need not endure.

NIght

Jewels can elevate an evening look like nothing else. I am still not completely convinced by having the biggest, brightest, and heaviest pieces though. I do love the look, but if a statement piece doesn’t work along with the assortment I am already wearing, I probably won’t bother. I want my jewelry to be in-sync, both day and night, and never feel the need to take it off. And I especially don’t want to bother thinking about taking things off to sleep. Lazy? Maybe just a little.
