An annual highlight of New York’s gala season, the Save Venice Benefit is one of fashion’s biggest nights for luminaries to come together for a great cause.

Save Venice Inc., hosts their annual benefit gala to raise funds for the preservation of Venice’s artistic heritage. Louis Vuitton kindly invited me along to the masquerade ball as a guest on their behalf. Considered the pre-Met Ball by fashion insiders, the annual benefit marks the start of the gala season for spring and summer.

The beautiful Louis Vuitton gown I was wearing had a classic aura that reminded me of Old Hollywood, but revisited with a modern twist courtesy of Nicolas Ghesquière. I knew instantly that I wanted to wear diamonds to bring out the gowns charm.

I reached out to a number of jewelers I usually work with and was lucky to find some pieces that are what dreams are made of, including a diamond choker that once belonged to the late Joan Crawford. The baguette shape is a modern and refreshing take on diamonds, helping the puzzle pieces fall into place for this outfit.

Grace Kelly was a big source of inspiration, especially for the hair. Her iconic buttery waves were the perfect accompaniment to the gown and jewels. Make-up was just a tad bumped up from my usual day-to-day - I wanted to still keep the look fresh and simple, and let the dress and accessories do the talking. We added a little more glamor around the eyes.

In 45minutes, I felt ready for the ball. My very own princess moment, minus the midnight curfew!
