ERMANNO SCERVINO FW19 HAIR BY STYLIST JAMES PECIS
words by LUCY BULLING • Beauty
HEAVILY INSPIRED BY WINONA RYDER IN THE 90'S GRUNGE ERA, THE ERMANNO SCERVINO FW19 RUNWAY WAS ABOUT EFFORTLESS AND SIMPLISTIC BEAUTY.
As told by the shows HAIRSTYLISt, JAMES PECIS:
“The inspiration for Ermanno Scervino was taken from the late 80s’/early 90s punk feel. Very Winona Ryder in Heathers.
We worked with Dyson to get the look just right. It is really all very effortless and simple. Less was more, here”.
GET THE LOOK
“To get the look, we blow back the hair slightly to the right using the narrow nozzle of the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer, [this helps to add] smoothness to the body. Then we seal in the direction with the hairdryer’s cool [setting].
We then take a section from the right of the head toward the back, just above the ear, and slide it over to the left. Then tie [the pieces together'] with a needle and thread ‘stitching technique’.”
GET THE LOOK
“Next we did the same thing but with a section from the left and tied it off using the same stitching technique.
We split the remainder of the hair into two sections and twisted into a soft, relaxed shape; letting the hair naturally fall before securing with [another] stitch.
Finally, we use Oribe Superfine Hairspray for hold and put the Dyson on a low speed setting to help piece out the front. This gives added texture.”
