PM BEAUTY ROUTINE
For firm, hydrated and flawless skin, I can handle a little routine.
Admittedly, adhering to the same thing every day is not always easy, given my work life - but one area I never let fall through the cracks is my beauty routine.
I’m a minimalist when it comes to makeup, so it is important for me to get the base right. Radiant and youthful skin doesn’t just happen overnight (Botox excluded!), so it’s important I put the effort in every day. And the night time is perfect for giving yourself an extra bit of self-love; I prefer to call this routine, me time.
Step 1: Cleansing
I clean the day’s stresses away with Bioderma Sensibio H20 Makeup Removing Micelle Solution, then follow with Glossier’s Milky Jelly Cleanser to restore my skin to it’s natural best. I do have sensitive skin, so I try to limit my cleansing to a once-over, but this gentle cleanser is suitable for double dose-ers, too.
Step 2: Prepping the skin
Once clean and fresh, I follow with a gentle exfoliation scrub or lotion. Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 is a cult favorite for a reason - even despite the intense aroma. It’s a gutsy solution that tingles the skin - a clear sign of the magic at work. Pat from the neck up in small motions (no scrubbing or swiping) and leave for 30-60 seconds before applying anything else to the skin.
Next, I seek a little motivation with ZIIP. This handheld electrical facial is a face-lift without the pain and recovery. The small device delivers energy through the skin that increases collagen and circulation, giving me that much-wanted celebrity contour to the cheeks and eyebrows.
Step 3: Rejuvenation
The best part of a beauty routine is putting all the goodness back in. I start by giving my under-eyes some much-needed love, with Susanne Kaufmann Line A Eye Cream. This light and nutrient-rich cream is the solution to long-term hydration and works wonders on reducing my puffiness.
I’m addicted to serums and at the moment, and I’m all about layering up - much like my winter fashion. Starting with ColbertMD Stimulate The Serum, and following with Biologique Recherché’s Placenta Serum. Yes, placenta. It sounds outrageous, but it really does have wonder powers and is an essential beauty trick for hydration and smoothing. I use a syringe to extract the liquid gold from the bottle - a pro tip to keeping the integrity of the formula intact and giving the skin all it deserves.
A 5-minutes break, then I apply Drunk Elephant B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum. I like to give it an extra kick with a couple of drops of Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Face Oil, then a quick spritz One Love Organic Vitamin D Spray to help balance and tone the skin.
Step 4: Moisturize
Almost there! I add a couple drops of Glossier Super Glow Serum to my all-time beauty favorite Augustinus Bader ‘The Cream’ moisturizer to give me that rich, lit-from-within finish. Then wrap it all up with a light spritz from Farmacy Skin Dew Hydrating Essence & Setting Spray.
For a complete body treatment, I lather myself in Susanne Kaufmann Body Butter for an extra smooth and sound sleep.
